How the free trial works

Honest Home Inventory is free to try for 3 days with the whole app unlocked. After the trial, a single one-time purchase unlocks it for good — no subscription and no auto-renew. Anything you already documented stays viewable and exportable even before you buy; we never lock you out of your own records.

How do I create an insurance report?

On the Rooms tab, tap Insurance Report (PDF). You'll get a clean, room-by-room PDF with your items' photos, values, serial numbers, per-room subtotals, and a grand total — plus your property's address if you've added one. Email it to yourself or save it outside your phone so you have proof off-device if disaster strikes.

Can I track more than one home?

Yes. Use the property switcher at the top-left of the Rooms tab to add a rental, storage unit, or second home. Each property has its own rooms and its own insurance report.

Does the app read my receipts? Are they sent anywhere?

The app can fill in the store, amount, and date from a receipt photo using Apple's on-device text recognition. That scanning happens entirely on your phone — the image and the text never leave your device and are never sent to us.

How do warranty reminders work?

When you add a warranty length or a return window to an item, the app schedules a local notification on your device to remind you before that deadline. You can set the lead time, and turn reminders off, in Settings.

I bought it on another device / reinstalled — how do I get it back?

Open the app, go to the unlock screen, and tap Restore Purchases. Your one-time purchase is tied to your Apple ID and restores for free.

Where is my data? Can I export it?

Everything lives on your device. You can export the insurance PDF, a CSV of everything, or a full ZIP backup (the report, every item's PDF, photos, and attached documents) at any time — including after a trial ends.

Privacy Policy

Short version: we collect nothing. Your inventory stays on your phone.

Honest Home Inventory is designed so there's nothing to collect.

• On-device only. Your belongings, photos, values, serial numbers, rooms, properties, documents, and reminders are stored locally on your device. They are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
• On-device scanning. Reading the store, amount, and date from a receipt photo uses Apple's on-device text recognition. The image and the recognized text never leave your phone.
• No account. There is no sign-up and no login. We never ask for your email or identity.
• No tracking, no analytics. We do not track your behavior, and we include no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
• No servers. We don't operate a backend that receives your inventory, because the app doesn't have one.
• The only network use is the App Store. Purchasing or restoring the unlock goes through Apple's StoreKit. That transaction carries no inventory data — only what Apple needs to process a purchase.

This maps to "Data Not Collected." If that ever needs to change, we will say so plainly here and in the App Store listing first.

Sharing

When you tap Share or export, the PDF, CSV, or ZIP you created is handed to Apple's standard share sheet so you can send it where you choose (Mail, Messages, Files, AirDrop, Print). We are not involved in that transfer.

Values & insurance

Honest Home Inventory records what you enter and reminds you before warranty deadlines. Values are your own estimates. The app does not provide insurance, valuation, or legal advice, and it does not contact any insurer on your behalf.

Children

Honest Home Inventory is a personal utility intended for adults and is not directed to children. We collect no data from anyone.

Changes

If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the App Store listing before the change ships.
